We are careful with your data. We only collect what is needed, we sell nothing and we show no advertising. This page tells you exactly what we do.
Who we are

What data we process, and why
Contact form
Your name, e-mail address, your message and, if you fill them in, your phone number and company name. We also store the language and the page you sent the form from. We only use this to answer your question. Your message is deleted automatically after 12 months at most.
Orders in the shop
Your name, address, e-mail address, your order and the payment status. We need this to deliver and invoice your order. We keep invoices and order data for 7 years, because Dutch tax law requires it.
Customer account
If you create an account, we keep your login details and your orders for as long as the account exists. You can have the account deleted at any time.
Your cookie choice
To be able to show that you gave consent, we record your choice: a random code, the time, the version of this statement, your choices and an encrypted value derived from your shortened IP address that changes every month. We do not store your IP address itself. This data is deleted after 2 years.
Statistics (only with your consent)
If you allow statistics, we use Matomo to measure which pages are viewed. Matomo runs on a server of our own (stats.x-viro.com) and the data does not go to anyone else. Without your consent Matomo is not even loaded.
Videos from YouTube (only when you press play)
The Lab has a few short videos by other makers. Until you press play, we fetch nothing from YouTube: no video, no picture, no script. When you press play, the video loads in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). From that moment Google sees your IP address and YouTube can set its own cookies. If you choose "Always load external media", we keep that choice like your other cookie choices.
Security
To prevent abuse we count failed login attempts and submitted forms per encrypted value derived from your IP address, for one hour at most. Our server keeps technical log files for security and troubleshooting. We keep them briefly and use them for nothing else.
Who we share data with
- Mollie B.V. processes your payment and is responsible for that itself.
- Cloudflare, Inc. provides the secure connection to our server. Your requests pass through the Cloudflare network on the way.
- Google Ireland Ltd. (YouTube) plays a video when you press play on it in the Lab.
- Our e-mail provider delivers the e-mails we send you.
We do not sell data and we do not share it with advertisers. This website runs on a server of our own in the Netherlands.
Cookies
The cookie statement lists which cookies and storage we use. You can change your choice through the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.
Your rights
You may view your data, have it corrected or deleted. You may object, have the processing restricted, take your data with you and withdraw your consent. We reply within one month. Use the form below, or send us a message through the contact form.
If you disagree with how we handle your data, please tell us first. You may also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
How we protect your data
The site only works over an encrypted connection, with strict security settings. Only people who need the data for their work can access it, and backups are encrypted.

When we change this statement, the date at the top of this page changes. After important changes we ask for your cookie choice again.
