The Lab

    Evo's Server Maze

The datacenter is infected. Evo runs through the aisles between the server racks and the mainframes, eats every data bit and puts the attackers in quarantine. But watch out: every attacker needs its own defence.

    Five rooms

    Clean up the datacenter!

Three lives, five rooms, and then all of it once more, faster. Halfway through every room a mail arrives with two links. Walk through the door of the real one.

    Evo

    Evo's Server Maze

The datacenter is infected! Evo runs through the aisles between the servers, eats every data bit and puts viruses, phishers and hackers in quarantine.

Arrows or WASD: run. Space: drop a honeypot. P: pause, M: sound, F: full screen. On a phone: swipe over the maze or use the buttons.

    Who stops whom?

    Every attack its own defence

In the maze you see it straight away, and real life is just the same. There is no one cure for everything.

    Antivirus against malware

Viruses, Trojan horses and ransomware are programs. An antivirus that is switched on and updates itself catches many of them before you notice.

    You against phishing

A phisher is not a program but a trick. No antivirus helps against that, but stopping for a moment to check who the sender really is does.

    Firewall and updates against hackers

Hackers look for open ports and old software with holes. Your router's firewall keeps the front door shut, updates close the back doors.

    Backup against ransomware

In the game a backup turns back time. In real life it is almost as good. If ransomware locks everything, you simply put your files back.

    Security keys

A key or code on top of your password. If someone steals your password, they still cannot get in. In the game three keys give an extra life.

    Free presents

Sometimes there is a present in the middle of the maze. Take it and a Trojan horse jumps out. Download apps and programs only from the official store.

    For parents and teachers

    Play, then talk

    • Every room takes a few minutes and ends with a tip you can talk about together.
    • The mail with two links practises what helps most in real life: reading every letter of an address.
    • No account and no adverts. Only if you choose to, your score goes into the Hall of Fame of this game for 24 hours, under a game name. We keep your best score only in your own browser, if you agree.
    • On a phone you swipe over the maze or use the buttons. In full screen everything fits without scrolling.
    • Calm mode or reduced motion on? Then everything goes a bit slower, with no sparks and no shaking.
